When to choose microflute

What it solves

When to choose microflute

Microflute is corrugated board with a very fine flute. It gives an almost smooth print surface while keeping the rigidity of corrugated — something neither compact board nor standard corrugated does as well.

It is the right call when graphic quality matters and weight is an issue: lower grammage means less volume paid for in transport, which adds up fast on a multi-store campaign.

It has limits. For heavy loads you need thicker flutes or a reinforced structure. We settle that on your actual product, not on a spec table.

We manufacture in Barcelona and deliver across the European Union: no customs, no duties, intra-community VAT invoicing.

FAQ

Microflute board FAQs

The questions that come up before a quote. If yours isn't here, write to us and we'll answer it.

How does it differ from standard corrugated? +

The flute is much finer, which gives an almost smooth print surface and a lighter piece. Load resistance is lower in exchange: it is a trade-off, not an improvement on every axis.

Will microflute carry heavy product? +

Not much. Past a certain load you need a thicker flute or reinforcement. We check this against your product before recommending the material.

Is the transport saving significant? +

On a single-store campaign, no. On a multi-store campaign, the reduction in grammage and volume becomes a visible line in the budget.
